Frosty will tell you how sought after the Saratoga has now become. Think he got a reasonable deal in Saratoga terms, but had been hunting for quite some time.
Still yet to se a Saratoga in better condition than Mark and Angela Cornfords one though. Have been told that if it's scratched it is almost impossible to clean off.
I also remember the Saratoga roof going on ebay for more than I'd pay for an X1-9 not so long ago. The buyer was happy though, and I believe the member was registered and active on the old forum. Can't remember the name, but I'm sure he'll be along if he sees this.
I for one would welcome a new source for similar roof designs.

Well apart from them being different you cook inside even on a day like
today.members have a habbit of leaning on them with all their weight not rearlising, the catches on mine are not spring loaded and as mentioned the rattle due to the lugs being made of metal not rubber.
taking off and putting on is a two man job its not heavy but a chance that you will knock it.
I had to restore the one I obtained which is an on going process
"Jim where the Broucher"
It seems as these were not treated with the respct that they need as Gordon and Joe are aware the silver trim had faded so tried to source
the same product (tape) or a silver trim for the surround but as yet have not found what I ve been looking for

one of them came with my lido, and the other one i brought from a man who lives in wolverhampton. he wanted around £100 for it when he said that, i knew he didnt know anything about them so began to knock him down and managed to get it for £90!!!!!. ok it wasnt in as good condition as the other one, but their rare and they are worth a lot more than £90.
i was thinking of selling one but if i crack the one i keep it cant be repaired and then i wont have one i can use.

Have been told that if it's scratched it is almost impossible to clean off.
Anyone with scratches in acrylic (a Saratoga roof or two if you're really lucky) would be well advised to read the following guide to scratch removal Click on scratch removal.
If you want an off-cut to practice on first, let me know.
Making a replacement roof is complex and expensive, as Joe says
It has. Perhaps in the future.I wouldn't be suprised if this and other X19 parts recreation has gone through his thoughts.
