Alternator 1300

What do you need to do to put a 1500 alternator on a 1300?

I would imagine they are identical Cameron.

Hi,

The alternator on my 1977 1300 failed some years ago. I mentioned it on here and whilst I managed to get it repaired a fellow member thought that an alternator from a 1500 would fit my car but it would require alterations to the wiring to the external voltage regulator as she thought that the later type had an internal regulator. I don’t know how to do that or even if they're the same size.
