Servicing in Worcs/Gloucestershire area

Hi there,

My 1987 D reg has been fine for years, but suddenly this year its cutting out when its come off auto choke, when I get to junctions etc.

Its had new spark plugs, leads and points, but my local mechanic doesn't know what else it might be, condensor maybe?

Does anyone have any recommendations of someone in the Worcester/Gloucester area who could fix it?

Have you had the carb serviced and jets cleaned? Sounds like it could be the slow running jet blocked.

Thanks Andy, I had thought it might be dirt in the carb.

I find a lot of mechanics cant be bothered with older cars these days.

I'll get a carb rebuild kit and have a go myself.

Yes, I'm afraid most garages don't know anything about carbs and points etc.

Finding a garage who can do these things is getting harder.
