Considering an X19 was created by Neil
Evening all,

Hoping for a little guidance from those in the know, i am considering a 1.5 X19 currently advertised on Ebay, the concern I have is that the Ad says that the Oil Pressure gauge does not work, it says the owner did change the Oil pressure sender which fixed the problem, but only for a very short period, and that failure of these senders is not uncommon due to the position it is located within the block, the Low oil pressure light does work, but does not illuminate, so the owner never bothered changing the sender again.

Any body have any thoughts regarding this,?

Thanks

For future: I ran my car without the oil pressure reading for a number of years after the sender slowly stopped working.
There was no issue in that the oil light was not on and I didn't have any oil leaks.

I did eventually replace the sender unit when doing an oil change and now have a reading.
If there are no other leaks then it shouldn't be a show stopper.

It bothered me the oil pressure wasn't reading as I wished, so after much thinking and discussing with Andy and others I sourced a new one from Eurosport.
Now I have 4 Bar at idle to 2,000 rpm and some 6 Bar at 4,000 rpm.
Think it cost £54 ish but it made me happier, now how can I see the oil pressure gauge !
