AGM FAQs
Q: Why do I need to go to the AGM?
A: Because it's YOUR Club. It's the opportunity to influence the future direction of the Club and to see how your money is spent. Also, the AGM is always held at an interesting transport venue, so it's a good day out, and if the weather is fine, it's a final chance to drive your exxie.
Q: But isn't it just a load of people droning on for hours about really boring stuff?
A: NO!! The meeting itself takes around 2 hours of lively discussion on all sorts of subjects that affect every member, we're a very social bunch, so we have a lot of laughs along the way. Then the rest of the day is spent visiting the venue, which this year is the East Midlands Aeropark, with lots of interesting exhibits, including a Vulcan bomber.
Q: But don't the Committee sort everything out?
A: The Committee all stand down at the start of the meeting, so all roles are up for grabs by any member who wants to put themselves forward.
Q: I've got a full time job and a life, why on earth would I want to put myself forward?
A: Most of the current Committee are in the same position, which is why all of the roles are designed to take no more than a handful of hours a month.
Q: If I was interested, how would I go about it?
A: Email before the meeting or turn up on the day on Saturday 21 October: secretary@x1-9ownersclub.org.uk

We can get into the Aero park from 10am and there is no charge for members to enter the Aeropark.
The advert should be in the next magazine which is due out shortly.

Thanks Andy,
Unfortunately I won't be able to make the AGM either.
I have to be in Bristol that afternoon to join a pair of twins travelling from New Zealand and Sweden respectively to celebrate their 80th birthday.
If you do have a live feed in the morning, then I may be able to join in.

Hi Garry/Pete,
I am looking to set up a Zoom meeting for the AGM.
There will be a few of us there live, but hopefully with a Zoom connection we may get a few more attending.
I'll be sorting out the Zoom call later in the week. I'll email you the necessary details beforehand.
If anyone else wants to join by Zoom, then please let me know.
Also, it would be really good if people are able to turn up in person!
