We had some sad news this morning. Barrie Jervis who was the Club Chairman in 2001-2003 and oversaw the hugely popular X1/9 30th anniversary event at Billing Aquadrome in 2002 and the “X1/9 Freaks in the Peaks” national weekend in Derbyshire the following year has passed away.
He had been ill for some time with MDS (myelodysplastic syndromes) a form of blood cancer, and died on the 19th February at Hillingdon Hospital, comfortably and listening to music, of sepsis that was a complication of his chemo treatment, after his MDS progressed into Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.
His funeral service is on Monday 28th March in Northwood where he lived with his wife Beverley.
Our thought are with all his family, Beverly, Helen, Paul and Claire.
