I heard the whining coming from the engine compartment again and sure enough the carburetor mounting bolts were loose again after a year.
My nice crescent spanner sorted them out. Do any of you have this problem recurring? I don't want to use thread locker.

I was going to suggest either lockwashers to stop the nuts turning or spring washers to maintain the tension.
