In the latest "classic Cars" magazine the Fiat Motor Club says that the prices are from £1000 rough £2000 good £4000 mint and a max of £6750
If insurer's think that my replacement cost should be £2000 I may as well just insure third party.
What do people think?

We had a similar conversation at the NEC show, those magazine figures are a little off I think. I’d trust the Haggerty Insurance valuation tool rather than classic car magazine. Haggerty puts a 1500 in good condition at 4800 which seems about right and an excellent one at 8200 which I think is there or thereabouts maybe a little steep.
Can’t you get fully comp limited mileage classic car insurance? I’d never insure mine third party.

Can you get an agreed value policy?
More peace of mind that way.

I am insured; its just when a payout is needed, whose figures do insurers use?
Has anyone had a successful agreed value payout?

I have just re-done my agreed value for my GF. I sent in detailed pictures and information and my suggested agreed value.
The insurance company then review the information and either agree with my valuation or suggest their own. (In this case they agreed with me).
On getting the certificate back from them with the agreed valuation, THEY have agreed the value and I would expect them to honour that.
Thankfully I've never had to put that to the test though!
Not sure where Practical Classics got their figures from? But they are low in my opinion.

Hello All,
I thought this might be worth adding to this topic, its guide price was £7,000 to £8,000.
