Exhaust was created by Richard Morris

I thought I had a lose baffle in the silencer as it rattled at idle. I was preparing to change it for a stainless steel one bought from Martin Rutter some years ago, when this happened today.

Obviously it wasn’t a baffle that was rattling but the bracket tearing away. It was a Eurosport “sport” exhaust which was all that was available ten years or so ago. Solid apart from the hole!

Anyway, the replacement is a little bigger!

No it’s flexed at the joint - it was in two pieces with separate pipes to bolt on the manifold before becoming one pipe to attach to the silencer. It’s not rusty, just metal fatigue.

Well that wasn’t too difficult. (Not me, I just passed spanners and watched). Sounds quite subdued compared to what I was expecting.
