Well, poor little "Chips" has been hibernating since November - but today all that ended and boy was it fun! Forgotton just how nippy she is and noisy too. Nice sunny day and the roads were greasy - perfect! Now back at home and I'm still shaking! What a great first drive of the year!

Great stuff!
For the first time ever, I can really appreciate what you mean too.
For the first time ever the exxy is no longer the most used car I have. I spend by far the most time behind the wheel of the recovery truck at work, or my own vectra......all of a sudden, a weekend drive in the exxy has become such an eye opener! (more so)........
Somehow, when the exxy was used daily the thrill wasn't perhaps appreciated as much?! (or was so use to I took it for granted)..... difficult to explain, but I can see it from another perspective now....or maybe I had too much of a good thing before?

Must be something to do with being so high up in my Transporter all week, but getting in the X feels like strapping yourself into a roller skate!
If it's dry at the weekend i'm in the X!
Enjoy
Cheers

I find being higher means I drive slower - just measured the "Bum to Road" distances on both my fun vehicles - here's the results...
X19 1986 VS - 24cm
Delica (modded a bit) - 126cm
Can anyone beat that !

Just to add to my crazy lifestyle at the mo - a lovely old boy I knew called Wilson (he was 91) died a few weeks ago and today was his funeral.
Took "Chips" out as a mark of respect to him although it was raining  and chips hasn't seen water for over a year.... felt like acid on the bonnet.... :x
After the ceremony we all drove to the crematorium doing 40mph in convoy (to pay our final respects) Couldn't resist it - did a doughnut in the crem car-park! - sure he would have seen the funny side although I'm not sure his relatives saw it that way! (at least me and car were wearing black so that must count for something, huh?!!)
Now I've got to spend all night in the garage with rolls of paper towels drying her off! (the car, dummies, the car!)
