Hi, I recently bought my first X1/9, it's pretty much pristine but the black plastic has lifted in one area front and rear. I'm guessing its pretty usual and I've seen it before, is there a particular glue to use? Or does the whole strip have to be taken off and reapplied?

These are a couple of pics; outside my Italian barbers......where else!

Are you talking of the strips on top of the front and rear bumpers Keith?

If so, I had a similar problem with it lifting in the central 4 or 5 inches. I stuck it down with double sided tape under the affected area.

Yes, that's it - the black strip that sits on top of the silver.

Nice looking car and great pictures.:)

Those strips do tend to warp a bit especially on the rear one around the cut outs for the reg number light.

As Pete suggests double sided tape and clamp it down.

I have not tried it but I am sure I remember reading that you can straighten these out on the car by heating and clamping flat with a piece of wood and some G or F clamps.

Maybe a combination of heat and double sided tape?
