Weird...had a new manifold and exhaust put on since then,if it is any relavence my car will run for ten minutes or so and start cutting out.Its like its starved of petrol.
Then it will start and drive as if nothing has happend....
Does the car need a fully charged battery to function once going ???
No electronic ignition but when I was on the side of the road a guy stopped and said the power in your battery is down ...that will effect it ???
Could be just as you say - if the car has been parked up the fuel can drain back so when you start up you a "gap" in the fuel supply - it will run for a while, die, then run again once the fuel pump has filled up the "pipeline.
Had this problem on one of mine - fixed along with hot starting issues with an electric fuel pump set up.
Very late , no one about apart from one guy who pushed me to get me going but only got about 2 miles.
Cut a long story short.
Battery was just about dead and with the lights on the electric fuel pump wouldn't work.
Turn lights off , pump would fill reservoir, lights on and good for another 2 miles.
Got me to a service station hotel and got new battery in morning.
