I was miss-sold a multi-car policy by A.F. just over 2 years ago when I had asked for quotes on 4 individual cars. When investigating the policy this year I discovered that Judith was not insured to drive a car not owned by her and that her full no-claims discount has been wiped out because all 4 cars are now in my name. Spent a long time on the phone with A.F. yesterday and they were no help whatsoever. Now I find that they are charging me 40% of the renewal cost to cancel the policy which has been in force for 20 days since renewal.
Total sharks.
I would advise anyone to go anywhere else for motor cover.

I've used them before many years ago - spoke to them recently and their pressured sales tactics made me put the phone down on them.
Best classic car insurance company I've used - RH classic
Best modified car insurance company - Sky insurance

I used to get my camper insured with them and was happy for a few years but recently they've gone right down hill.
I checked my points on the info they sent for me to sign and some weren't on there. I asked why and they said that there wasn't room or it only shows 2. I struggle with that.
I bet if I did have an accident they would say that my insurance was invalid because I hadn't checked my paperwork or I'd lied.
I would prefer to be insured with another company.

I don’t know anybody who rates flux anymore, we’re fine in the nineties for classic and military but they are useless now...
They paid out to a claimant, and compensation for whiplash, wehn a taxi drove into me!
They ignored the evidence;I was stationary and had priority, he ignored a sign stating that large vehicles in centre of road (single track rural) and tried to squeeze past...so a slow speed shunt on his rear offside!
I presented photographs, maps, signage and limited damage to my vehicle (a bent side step) but to no avail. Wehn I took it to the ombudsman they stated, ‘no action can be taken as the claim has been settled, however, in light of the evidence, we are instructing AF to reinstate your full no claims.
It’s little wonder premiums are so high wehn the insurance industry acts so!

I've got my X with them at the moment, purely because they were cheapest at £80pa.
That said, every year they increase my premium to £120-odd and I ring them and then they eventually drop it back to £80. Bit of a pantomime but there you go.
A couple of years ago, I imported an american car and attempted to insure it through them using the chassis number for it's first MoT. Seeing as how they advertise as classic American specialists, I was surprised when they claimed they couldn't insure a non-registered car on it's chassis number alone.

Similar experience recently, would not give me a quote in writing. Did not ask which classic club I was with, when challenged "we give discount to all clubs so it doesn't matter". The quote given was not the cheapest or even competitive, but they could not guarantee the same price would be available tomorrow and if I rang back I would have to go through all the questions again. But apparently if I could take out the insurance today I could probably get it cheaper. Typical attempt at high pressure sales.
Got insured elsewhere better cover two thirds the price.
