Location of engine number on x1/9 was created by Sandro
Hi,
New to this forum.
Looking to get an X 1/9 and was wondering if someone could show me ( ideally with a photo) the location of the engine number. I believe it’s on crank case , plug side . If that’s the case must be awkward to get to.
Is there anything in particular I should look out for when buying? I’m interested in a prima serie.
Thanks for any assistance.

The engine number is stamped on the crankcase nearest the flywheel. So should be visible.
There are lots of things to look for. But with the early ones you need to thoroughly check the bodywork. They can and do rust anywhere so a good inspection is vital. The engines are normally fairly good and spares can be got hold of quite easily. Not so with body panels though.
