Electronic ignition was created by matthew lockett
Hi,
I want to convert to electronic ignition but only want to replace the points with the electronic device that fits inside the distributor cap, the part that i think i need is ICP-EK048 from ignitioncarparts at £45 advertised as being Ultrasparks. Has anyone else fitted this component? is it wise to replace any other components like the coil?
Thanks
Matt

I would ask the suppliers regarding the coil as some are ballasted and some not and I wouldn't know which would or wouldn't be ideal for the new set up.
Aldon
have a good reputation, not sure if they cover an X1/9 dizzy though

I think I tried that one last year, it came from a company in Basildon.
It produced the spark when the rotor was midway between the contacts in the distributor cap and I couldn't be bothered with trying to find an alternative rotor arm to solve the problem..
It went back to the supplier and I stuck with the original points system
