stopping wheel centres coming off

Scared to drive mine at the mo and probably will take my wheel centres off if I do,as i lost one on Sunday off my 3 spoke wheels.
They sound rattley anyway as some things tend to on old cars....is there a way on ensuring they dont come off ????
Thanks Steve

Hi Steve, I've always found that an elastic band around the part that fits inside the wheel stops the rattle and keeps them on.
Cheers

They are very soft metal, you can bend the tabs that hold them in place easily with your fingers; just bend them out until they fit snugly. If they are rattling, they will fall off!

The earlier ones have more steel in them so tend to hold their shape better, the later more alloy which can snap after being bent a few times.
