break pad thickness was created by David Moult
I just bought EBC Green Stuff brake pads. I don't think they will fit my 1982 1500. Most information says 17.3 mm thickness but one source says up to 1982 16.6 mm. That is quite a difference over two pads plus the plastic anti squeak strip on the back. Any ideas?

I fitted green stuff pads to my 1983 1500 (front calipers only) two weeks ago and they wouldn't fit without removing the anti squeal pads. The squeal pads are only tacked in position and are easily removed with a flat screwdriver. The piston needed to be fully home before the pads would just go over the disc.Having said that I have had no issue with squeal at all having used the provided copper ease on the caliper piston face and opposing "fork". I've noticed an improvement in braking performance but the pads I removed were of unknown origin. Good luck

The pads did just fit and they are great, an immediate improvement, the pedal is firmer and the pads grip much better especially from cold, what a difference.
