Do you think it does any good? I have an electric fuel pump which I believe pumps cool fuel into the carb.
Getting rid of it and all the plumbing would give more space and air circulation. Any thoughts?

The carb cooler isn't doing anything for you but neither will losing it give anything either apart from weight saving

The previous owner of my 1500 wired it to a switch. I have never switched it on, and my car always runs fine...

It's only intended to run with the ignition off.

I had been told that by the previous owner, who said it would flatten his battery...
I didn't realise that was the ONLY time it was used though... you learn something every day
P.S. I didn't want to use shouty capitals for the word 'only', I tried to use italics, to show the emphasis, but when I did that the post just had an empty space where the word in italics would've been... more website gremlins...? Oh, and the preview option doesn't work in I.E. I just get a blank text box...

Gremlins in the forum software!
I know what you intended though.
Mine cuts in after about five minutes parked and runs for around two minutes before it's happy with the temp and it stops. This cycle does repeat if it's very hot. I've not had issues with the battery though- last one lasted nine years!
Whether all this air blowing does any actual good I'm not sure.
