Uploading an Avatar

I've just tried uploading an avatar picture a few times, using both IE and Firefox. I get this error message: Error You need to use allowed file extension (gif, jpeg, jpg, png).
I am using the same method I have always used to upload pics onto my threads. Do I have to do something different to upload an avatar pic?

Hi Andrew, it looked like there was a limit of 10K on the Avatar size, which isn't much good to anyone. I've increased this to 200K. Do you want to try again and see how you get on.

Thanks for trying Neil, but I'm still getting the same error message even with the correct size pic :(

Hi Andrew, can you email the picture you're trying to upload to admin@x1-9ownersclub.org.uk. I can then see if it's objecting to the picture or whether the problem is local to your PC. Cheers

Hi Andrew, it was as simple as it not liking the fact that your file extension was in upper case. Change the .JPG at the end of the filename to .jpg and it should work - it did for me anyway. Let me know how you get on.

I'm still getting the exact same error message Neil.
I've renamed the file, there are no capitals in it. The JPG in capitals appears on this site, in addition to the name of my pic, once I've selected it. I can't remove those capitals because I haven't put them there.

Hi Andrew, I'm not quite sure what you're seeing there. I initially used your file and got the error. I then renamed it to 736 jpg - Copy.jpg and it worked fine. When I selected the file, it didn't convert anything to upper case:

Anyway, to save you messing about, I've had a look to see if I could do this for you. It looks like, even as an administrator, I can't update your Avatar, so I took the liberty of changing your password, logging on as you and updating it for you. I've emailed you the new password that I set up on your login. If you'd like to change it to something different, just let me know or use the "Forgotten Password" link.

Cheers,
Neil

Thanks Neil, that's great. What I was seeing was this: 736jpg-Copy.jpgJPG. The JPG in capitals appeared just as shown, I never put it there and couldn't remove it. Strange...
Anyway, you've managed to do it for me so Thank You!
