I've just been posting pics in my restoration thread and it was very difficult when using Internet Explorer. All kinds of strange anomalies going on. So I switched to Firefox Browser. Like night and day. Everything works perfectly. Wonder why...

I must say it looks a mess using my iPad. Pagination is all over the place.

Thanks for the feedback folks. Just to give you some background, we had to upgrade the website as the software we were using was really old and had security vulnerabilities. When we upgraded, we had to change the "template" that controls the look and feel of the site. This seems to have one or two cosmetic compatibility issues with our forum software. In particular, the messages that indicate new posts are too high and look messy. I've been trying to solve this without success, so I've raised a support ticket with the people we bought the template from.

Modern templates are designed to be "mobile friendly" and reformat the page to fit on a mobile screen, while on the old site you basically got the desktop site on your mobile. It can look a bit clunky, so I'll see if there's anything I can do to refine this. Where you're having problems, the more specific you can make the feedback, ideally with screen shots, the better chance I'll have of fixing things. Speedy Fiat - can you let me know what problem you experience when uploading an image. Do you get an error message?

Re uploading images, I've just tried in Internet Explorer 11 and it worked beautifully. Andrew - what version of Internet Explorer are you using?

Richard: re your comment re pagination - could you post a screen shot so I can see what the problem is? Ta.

I'll keep you updated with progress.

Hi, i think it.maybe that i have to just get used to it. The odd thing is that it says for example that there are 2 new comments in green but tapping the green does nothing. You have to tap the title of the post to see the new comments. It's not major just odd to start with.

Hi Mark, I've just had a quick play and I think it depends which screen you're on. If you're on the Index screen then the green "New Post" messages refer to how many new topics have appeared in a forum section. This doesn't act as a link as the "New Posts" refers to multiple topics, so it wouldn't know which one to link to. If it's a "New Post" message for a particular topic, then it does seem act as a link. Although when I do it on my mobile, when I try to click the green New Post link thing then I always end up clicking the topic title as they're so close, but this is fine as this is what you want to do anyway.

That was a bit waffly, but I'm not sure it's any different to how it used to work? Anyway, hope you'll get used to it.

If you tap on the Last Post it takes you to the latest posting on the thread.
Although on a mobile it's all a bit close together so that you end up pressing everything!

Sorry Neil, I'm not particularly computer savvy... I wouldn't have a clue. How do I find out?
It all works beautifully on Firefox.

Andrew,

If you click on the icon that is shaped like a gear in the top right hand corner of your Internet Explorer window you will get a drop down menu.
At the bottom select "about Internet Explorer" and it will come up with a box as shown in the attached picture.

The slight irony here is that we need to know what version of Internet Explorer you're using to give advice on how to find the version! Andy's advice works on newer versions. On IE8, rather than a gear icon, it's a question mark in a blue circle - drop down this option list and select About Internet Explorer to find the version. My guess is that you're using an old version. For example if you're still running XP on your PC, you can't go beyond IE8 and this isn't supported any more so won't work properly with many websites and we can't guarantee our website will work with it. If you are still using an old version, you're better off switching to Firefox, Chrome or Opera anyway.

Thanks Andrew. Andy R - are you able to test picture uploads in IE11 to see how you get on. I don't have access to it.

Ok, here goes....

Now that was bizarre. When uploading attachments it states a maximum image size of 4MB.
The picture attached to this post is 7.5MB this was using IE11 at work.

I'll try it again at home later because I use Google chrome or Microsoft edge there.
I did have some file uploading issues when doing it at home that was to do with file size.
Basically I ended resizing the file in Microsoft picture manager and saving. I could upload it OK then.
