Yep, I've got the matching bags in the deckchair fabric that look like they've never been used! :) Even the original bill for sale too which was £3,481 (which in 1977 was a HECK of a lot of money - that twice over would have bought a house back then!) but a Fiat 128 Coupe was traded in for it which knocked the lucky original owner a grand off the book price! :)

I can see your grin from hear! :D I remember my old 1300 was originally that green colour with those seats SCD616R! Rusted to high heaven & then given a poor spray job in red! My parents still give me stick over me buying it! You should have seen their faces when i said i'm buying another one!! Still they just have no soul, (they ferried me & my brother around in a mustard cloured Austin Maxi!)
I'm so pleased for you, & i don't even know you!

Thanks Nige!! :)

Hey, have you found yourself a nice X1/9 yet? If you're still looking you could do worse than come and have a look at my VS - it could be just what you're looking for! I'm sure I could cut you a good deal on it...

Hi Jim,
Yet to find a half decent one! Watching a 1988 Standard, in red on E-Bay in Farnborough, spoken to the guy (who is a club member) but he expects it to go above my budget as he's had 2 positive viewings, the auction ends on Sun eve. Also looked at an '89 VS that had a £2K reno in 2001 but needs a new wing :o but sound mechanically, up for £600. Am i better off spending my budget on a fairly rust free example than on a cheap but rusty car? All my instincts tell me the former, as body work is pricey & not a job that you can do yourself! I do keep looking at your car on the car of the month section but would ideally like something a bit more standard! (By the way will your mods affect insurance)? Also no MOT or tax, of which the MOT i'm sure wouldn't be a problem. I'll maybe give you a shout if i don't come up with anything soon.
Nige
