2017 season was created by Martin Rutter
The 2017 calendar has prompted thoughts of next year. Just spent the morning deciding the spec for next seasons race engine with my engineer. It's all about budget and we have decided that a new steel crank cannot be justified. The budget is heading for stand off injecectors in trumpets + throttle bodies and ecu, dry sump so engine can be tipped forwards plus full engine rebuild with new clutch. The class regulations mean we are limited to less than 1.4L but we are aiming for 140 bhp. The straight cut dog box gearbox fortunately came out of last year's budget although it never actually got used last year due to everything else we were doing to the car. The aim is to get the car running at Castle Combe at the first sprint event for a shakedown and then go to Harewood for the first hillclimb championship event of the HSA 2017 series. Lots of work in store for the winter!! Glad to read that the club are going to make Prescott an annual event as I will be competing there throughout the season and glad of all support.
