Exhaust

Can anyone recommend an exhaust supplier and has anyone fitted one of Henk's?
I am not sure whether to go for the stainless option or stick with the mild steel.
Looking forward to hearing of your experiences.

I have a Eurosport "sport" one fitted at the moment, as at the time it needed replacing the standard system wasn't available. It is good, but does boom a bit at 65-70mph. Over this speed it's fine.
I also have a stainless steel custom made exhaust in the garage ready to fit when the current mild steel one holes. The diameter of the tailpipe is a bit bigger though. No idea what this sounds like- I bought it from mr Rutter when I purchased his GF seats last summer.

Alternative Autos in Huddersfield used to stock standard ones. It might be worth having a look at their website. However, I'm not sure how much he does for X1/9s these days.

There is also DG Rally that you could try.

"Super Race" in Italy do a range of exhausts if you actually want a performance manifold/exhaust but they are not cheap. I have a full race system that produces excellent results but not really for a road car as you need to make a few modifications!

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNo eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationPersonally, I'd go for the CSC one that DG Rally sell that uses the standard manifold. The posh CSC 4 branch set up does nothing for performance and simply makes more heat and noise. Rolling road comparisons (on the Xweb forum) confirmed this.

Plus, the way the posh one routes the pipe is not kind to the alternator either.
Alternatively you could rock up to a local stainless steel exhaust place and get one made.
Janspeed made the best X1/9 exhausts. Shame they stopped.

Mickey
