Castle Combe - 19th March

Just had my entry confirmed for the first event of the season – Great Western Sprint at Castle Combe on 19th March. This will be just a shake down session for the major changes that the car has undergone so far in its move to Modified class C1. The big changes are increasing the stiffness of the chassis, welding in a proper roll cage (the OMP cage that was in last year is not up to the job), mounting 2 small radiators mid-ships. The new suspension will be fitted although the pick-up points will be changed later in the year. I have run out of time for any changes to the engine from last year so will be way down on power. Engine and gearbox upgrade should be ready for the next event and these are specced for hillclimbs rather than sprints so looking forward to Loton Park, Prescott and Shelsley Walsh, etc. Hopefully my time at Combe will not be too embarrassingly slow but it will be useful track time regardless.
