just thought i would say hello. iv just brought a x19 the other day well half a car anyway the rest is rot
it is rough. its boarder line if it can be saved. prior to my ownership it had been sat for 7 years.any advise where a can get new, second hand panels would be useful. will post some pic soon

Hi Mark,
Yes, welcome to X1/9 ownership. I think you've taken on quite a project there. I'm afraid that X1/9s can and will rot just about anywhere. You need to give it a good look over and look particularly at the structural areas to see if it is salvageable.
Areas to look at are the sills, rear suspension towers, front suspension area and have a good poke around underneath.
Another area to look at is the windscreen surround. repairing or replacing this can be quite a job.
Hopefully you can repair this. New panels are like rocking horse s**t, although if someone is breaking a car you may be able to get some second hand panels.

Welcome Mark and best of luck with the restoration. Eurosport do replacement panels. Some are build to order so take a few weeks. Mine needed the lower door skins as they were bubbling so the garage doing the work got them from Eurosport. They would have fabricated the sections themselves if I hadn't told them replacement ones are available. Here's the link:
