Way back in the past I have used a Colourtune for basic mixture setting. I would really recommend there is no substitute for a quick rolling road set up and I think it is money well spent. However, the Colourtune does work so if you have one to hand, there is no harm in using it to check the mixture.

I would agree with Martin. If you do use one be careful not to burn your fingers as it very quickly gets very hot :pinch:

I have got one and found it very useful and simple too use. But what can make a significant difference is few squirts of carb cleaner,it did it with my black x1/9 and could not believe the amount of garbage that came out, it ran so much smoother afterwards.

A blast from the past! Colourtune is probably of more use with multiple carbs as two or more are not so easy to balance mixture-wise by ear. I last used a Colourtune on a Land Crab sporting twin SUs that were a sod to keep in sync.
