Does the fiat twin cam engine from a rear wheel drive 131 fit into an x19 or is the block different on the rear wheel drive application?

Hello Eric,
The Lampredi twin cam engine is not the same as the X1/9 engine and does not fit without some surgery. There are better options for engine swaps, courtesy of the Uno Turbo, Punto GT (sohc), Brava and Stilo (dohc 16V). These are developed from the original sohc engine and are reasonably easy to fit in the X1/9.
Hope that helps.

Possibly cutting the chassis/body rails and perhaps removing some or all of the bulkhead between the rear boot and engine compartment I think.
Find a photo of a converted car. In the club magazine or online somewhere?
