X1/9 value

My friends 1989 Grand Finale in burgundy with 34k miles was involved in a offside collision and has been declared a write off.
She has driven x19 s since their introduction so she wants to be able to buy an X19 to replace it. However the compensation offered is not adequate, she has asked me my opinion and researching their value I find one at £17 k at auction and others around the £4 k to £6 k range. Needless to say she has been offered half of that for her car. What would be a realistic valuation.? It was fully serviced, all functioning, regularly driven, and garaged.

Unless she had an agreed value with the insurers for the car then they will only pay market value.
What they have offered is what they consider the current market value to be.
The X1/9 is still a cheap sports car despite the fact there are not many around now.

Obviously the condition will greatly affect the value, i.e condition of bodywork (prior to crash)

Could she not take what they offered and get it repaired? I have seen x19's with what looks like terrible accident damage repaired well and back on the road. I would like to see some photos.

Very difficult to judge a price against whats on the market. I have persuaded her to ask her insurance company negotiate for a full repair and see what develops. Thanks for your input.
