I run 205/60/13 on the front of mine with no problem with the outer wheel arch/lip but they do catch the inside next to the foot well on full lock. However, that may be academic as I'm sure the limiting factor is the wheel/tyres clearance on the standard springs, I run 2.25" diam springs which are much narrower. The offset would have to be correct as well.
Regarding alternative tyre sizes a site such as this is a good ready reckoner

I think mine are 195/45 R15 on 6 inch rims. I removed the liners from the front wings to give extra clearance and mine are standard diameter springs.

I Cameron - have you tried fitting the rims yet?

I tried these just as I had them from my previous car. 195 55 15 - I think they were 6 inches wide and with 10mm spacers they would not clear the spring perches. Offset 37, so 27 with spacers.

I dont think they suit the X1/9, I was just experimenting... as you do...

They did fit on the back but not the front so I did not get a chance to test them.

Wheels are funny on the X1/9, we have fitted 7" rims with a "0" offset went on great ( but we're just under the arches) I have a brand new set of 6.5x15 with 195x45 tyres but used 20mm spacers, they clear everyplace apart from the front arch at the bottom. So the point of his post is to flair the arches before you paint your car.
Ps the wheels I have are for sale

I was hoping that these wheels would fit but even with 20mm spacers there is no way a tyre is going to fit on without hitting the coil spring, it is not just the offset but they are 7 j wide. Gutted my vs would have looked a treat. At the moment I have got these mag slots on which I don't think go well with the car so my search continues to find wheels which look good and bloody fit!

Why do iPads let you take pictures the right way up but when you post them any where else it turns them upside down?

don't ask me about Apples... :)

I think these look good on the x1/9 - I have the 13" version fitted. If these are indeed 14" they are pretty rare!

I have not seen another set in 14's and I have been keeping an eye out for a few years. They originally came as an option on the Alfa 33 Cloverleaf I think. I wonder if the offset would be the same

The 13x6's I have fit fine with 10mm hub-centric spacers - costing £60 a set made by Delta Mics. I would also recommend wheel bolts with 50mm thread with these wheels.

Those RFX are quite nice and pretty cheap. Not sure why he can't fit them to his Lancia. With hubcentric spacers like the delta Mics ones Jeremy mentioned there is no fitment problem. You need to achieve a backspace no more than 100 mm or so to clear the springs on the front. The rears are ok because unless you have huge tyres the spring pans are high enough to clear.

To fit these "flat back" wheels to Fiat/Lancia you have to drill 8/14 mm diameter stepped holes to fit the locating pins/bolts on the hubs, the ones that hold the discs on. This can be done by a DIYer if you are careful to get them accurate. It's not the end of the world if you make the holes too big; the wheel is centred by the central 58 mm diameter spigot on the hub.

Yes that's right, personally i just removed the disc holding bolts but that makes aligning the wheel bolt holes a real pain sometimes. however the delta mics have holes to accommodate the wheel locating studs so this is not a problem.
