Hi all,

With regret I am resigning both post in the club due to work commitments, I will make sure that any orders outstanding are shiped but after that it's on someone else's head sorry.

On a separate note I feel that the owners club is almost dead due mainly to Facebook, the AGM was poorly attended and no one has stepped forward to undertake the club mag ( I think this is a waste of money personally )

So it's time to step up or watch the club go under folks ( my opinion only )

Regards
Michael Erskine

I have had that many Fiats they gave me a job selling them

Sorry to hear you are stepping down but thanks for all your efforts and input, being an ex tvs regional officer i know how much time and effort you have to put in to your position, doing the two positions you did are very time consuming and we all have work and families we need to put 'time' into and sometimes we have to get our priorites right.I have been a member off/on since 1994 and remember the days of 1500+ members sadly with a club being just a 'one car' club its numbers will fall every year what with the dreaded tin worm and people breaking easily savable x1/9s to line their pockets.A portion of the decrease in numbers i think is also due to the membership fee (£30) whether people like this or not £30 is a lot of money, the mr2 mk1 club is still very high in numbers and i believe part of that is due to the £10 a year membership ok they dont get a glossy magazine but i am sure we could all live without it,also without a magazine thats one position less to fill, the editiors job to me is probably the toughest one out of the lot, trying to find new stuff on one car for a magazine that has been running nearly 30 years is almost impossible.
The way for the club to start its fight for survival is to get the club fee down and the magazine has run its course and is an unneccesary expense. Also there are members who will turn up to meets if they are organised, when i was regional officer i would hold 10-12 meets a year and only one was a failure but most meets/shows i arranged had 6-14 cars so the club needs regional officers that will bring members out the woodwork to make this club vibrant again thanks pete
