Wheel bearings.

Hi All,

Whilst I have the rear arms off the car I was thinking of changing the wheel bearings as well as the bushes.
Are these easy to remove and is it possible to fit new ones without a press?
Would I need any other parts - seals etc to do the job properly?
Do the rear balljoints need any maintenance whilst I have the opportunity to work on them easily?
I am getting the arms shot blasted ready for painting so basically want to put them back on as good as new.
Thanks for any advice.

Cheers Chris.

A big mash hammer and the correct size socket will sort the wheel bearings out if you cant get use of a press.

They are held in by a big retaining nut you need a special tool to tighten up after you are finished. I ended up making one big nut and a bit of steel bar worked a treat.

I have a home made tool for the retainer if you want to borrow it
