Right well to day at the NEC Show I brought a Haynes manual for a x-19 but I didn't realise it was just for the 1974-1977 models. oopss :pinch:

Is this a problem or will this be ok for all the models?

A majority of the information is transferable but, it will be missing the supplement sections on the late 1500 wiring and a few other bits.

I MIGHT have a spare 1500 manual kicking about at my garage on the other side of town. The next time I am over there I will have a look for it. If I have still got it, you would be welcome to it, although from memory it's a bit tatty.

Hi Jake, I have not forgotten, I have got 6 more boxes sat in the shed to sort out on Saturday, I am hoping it will be in one of those. If I dont have any luck finding it, I can send you over the copy in the boot of my car if you want to borrow it for a few weeks to help you out until I fetch some more boxes over? - I forgot I had so much stuff in storage!
I will let you know over the weekend and send you the copy I definitely have if need be?

Jake are you getting 12v at the coil? Also check the earthing straps. If the engine earth strap has gone then you won't have a complete circuit and hence no spark. A quick coil test is to earth the Ht lead out onto the engine with the ignition on. If you have 12v at the terminals on the coil then you should get a spark out of the HT lead if you earth it on the engine block. The other thing to check is the condenser. Usually if the condenser goes then you will get a massive spark at the points if you have the igntion on and open the points using something non metallic. If you get a big spark there then the condenser may have gone and then you will get a weak or non existent spark at the plugs.

But check the earth strap first (usually bottom left at the rear of the engine from the body to the bottom of the gearbox).
