Can you all take a look at the attached pictures and story of this car and tell us all if you think it is bodged up "in any way manner or form"?

This is the best unmolested 1500 shell I have personally come across

This car has been seen in the flesh by loads of members on here at recent car shows and has absolutely nothing to hide.

Well folks ????

Looks original and sound to me,

And the body work I have seen you do is very good, the work you did on this car was high, I wouldn't have minded copying some of your work on my car given the time again (no not again please)

I think the time has come to stop any personal swipes on any work or projects for all. we all have skills and strengths though may it be at different levels we also all have our weaknesses.

Weld true fill little and paint smooth.............ahhh khama (don't forget wax on wax off)

In all honesty I don't think any comment was reffering to this car. I too have stone guarded my engine bay and front and rear bays. With some gloss paint on it looks smart. It's what's underneath that's the big thing and if you have been in there and done it yourself you know how good the car is. Charlie I want to get some pics of this car next to mine next year at some point as they are quite similar

Looks pretty original to me....if you want to see an untidy engine bay i will show you mine....fire damaged, smoke damaged and all held together with tie wraps, but who cares???? Its a good laugh and a small minority need to stop hounding others. Top job Charlie, be proud :-)

Charlie, as X1/9s go yours is a fresh example not bodged, you just need to look at the nose cone and the work you done, it's a good deep black well painted and the wheels are stunning.
Put it another way I am glad when you don't park your car by mine, you know what I mean

Michael

I have had that many Fiats they gave me a job selling them

Michael, your in trouble with the boss woman for calling it my car :woohoo:

Rob, I can assure you that the digs from the Angry Modified Mob is directed at me personally. I was having a think today about the Stone chip/guard issue and the only place the above shell has any of this is behind the home made front end, after it was Etch primed then 2k primed. And as for the suspect dodgy engine bay? - That's the original paint, all I had to do was wash it and wax-oil it before dropping the lump in.

We are well up for a meet next year mate (hopefully in the middle of the country again). WE were all booked up and ready to go the last time, but then it all went wrong so we decided to cancel. Hopefully everyone is still talking for the next one.

Life's too short.

Charlie, why are you worrying. At the end of the day you know what's underneath and I am sure like everyone else in the club you have done the best possible job in sorting the car out and making it perfect.

I'm working on my sons mini now and every piece of work I do on the underside will be sorted, seam sealed and stone chipped. At the end of the day I will know that I have done the best job I possibly can. It may not be Jag etype professionally restored standard but the car will be solid, not bodged safe and rust protected for years.

Unless I go to sell the car I don't really care what anyone else thinks and if someone does eventually want to buy it I would stand by everything I have done to it knowing that it's safe and sorted. That's the real test. Not what someone says or thinks on a forum..

I am sure you car will be a far higher standard than anything I can achieve :-)

You need a run against the V6 Charlie before having that title. Mark's car once tuned will be impressive along with a few others in the country. Need to do a Santa Pod event next year.
