Still Hunting non-rusty 1500!

More

Hallo again,
Further to my previous Forum message ( #29330 )I am still seeking a decent 1500, but wilh little luck so far. Either too expensive from dealers, or too much rust when you get to examine them!

Hence please ignore my original reluctance to travel and for the right car I will now grit teeth, gird loins and venture just about anywhere in Uk!,
Any suggestions welcome,
Regards, Richard

Mark Slade has an early 1500 in Herefordshire. Not really for sale but would be at the right deal. A seriously sorted and solid car that I have worked on and can recommend. Its in that burgandy red colour with the brown interior. Drives lovely. The only problem is he bought that gorgeous Ferrari red P1X car on split rims with leda coil overs and 1300 bumpers. PM me if interested and I will pass over his details.

1986 'BAD' Turbo Bertone X1/9
1977 1300 Special Series
1989 Lotus Esprit 2.2 Turbo

Hi Michael,
As discussed here's my email address for any photos you may have. The car sounds good, and I wonder if I were to come up to buy it, did you say that you could perhaps get some tax on it so that I could drive it back?(is it still insured for yourself?)
I would actually quite fancy coming up as I haven't seen the new Glasgow transport museum, which I understand is excellent!. Means getting a B&B on the way back I suppose, but a decent 400+ mile 'fun' drive as long as the weather co-operated!
Am I right in remembering that you mentioned the price then would be £1750 cash??
Look forward to seeing the photos.,
Regards and thanks for the call, Richard ( r.bartholomew@freeuk.com )

Hello Richard,
Did you get an X? There is one advertised on the board now that needs a bit of recommissioning.

Regards,

Terry.

Hi,
No Terry, not an new Owner yet!. Some tempting offers, but all rather too far away so far.
One really does need to see and drive such a model before waving one's wallet. So time will tell.
I will try to look at the one you have just mentioned,
Cheers, Richard

Richard, have you seen this one?

1980 1500cc, yellow with cromodora alloys

Not sure what it's current tax and MOT state is but it looks like a very nice example.

Replied by Nello on topic Still Hunting non-rusty 1500!
Richard - see my post in the For Sale section - As West Mids RO I have been emailed about this 1500. Looks OK in the photos - Again not my car and the club is not affiliated to the dealer in any way. Just obviously a rare sale and the owner is a customer of the garage who gave them my name! Worth a look? Its in Market Rasen....

Not many details so give them a call - My only comment is that its had paint as the rear valance has been colour-coded.

Metallic Green 1300 Serie Speciale - Bertone
Fiat Coupe 20VT LE - Pininfarina
Lotus Turbo Esprit HC - Giugiaro
