Sadly the Lido went to its new home today (see the facebook page to see which exxie it is now parked next to).
Anyhow, I though it was about time to show my recent acquisition - a 1989 Mica Blue Gran Finale.
A million and one jobs to do and sort, but this one is a runabout all year round!

I'm getting there slowly with it.

The spoiler is on the right way- This one is on the road - I drove it back, all taxed and insured. Overheating problem now cured, was hoping to have it ready for the AGM tomorrow but no such luck. On Thursday I bought some 120% brighter ring bulbs to put in, but found all the screws in the headlights are seized (looks like they have never been out.) So it's a case of drilling out etc and I've just run out of time.

I'm back to the blocked jets situation - Great fun pulling over at the side of the road!! On the plus side, I now have the auto choke working (was blocked before). I've also got a terrible stutter at 2 - 3k rpm in each gear, also when warmed up. Might have a play with the mixture screw - not had that issue on an exxie before....

Charlie, this one will be standard, something just to smoke about in. Although I'm doing half the speed of the black car, skinny tyres does make tail action seriously easy and good fun!

Hey Rob
But is that the dealer right way fitting or spoiler right way fitting?

Maybe i should explain to those not in the know, the GF is a UK only model and a lot of the extras fitted were done by the dealers as a GF pkg a lot of the dealers fitted the spoiler the wrong way round as standard for some unbeknown reason so the wrong way could be the right way if you want cheesey originality

I've seen them fitted both ways before. I assume the dealer was the back to front way?

Definately the right way round Rob...... The two Gran Finales I bought that were nearly new from Fiat Dealers at the time both came initially supplied with the spoiler the wrong way around. Quickly corrected I hasten to add! There must have been a communique sent to all UK dealers as I have seen so many done backwards..... BTW wheres your wing plaque?

Congratulations Rob. You beat me to it  Simon's old car yes? What did the overheating issue turn out to be? Have fun getting it how you want it. Regards, Miles.

Hi Miles,

The heating issues are better now with the repaired bleed valve working on the rad so I think air in the water system played a big part. I had a fun journey with overheating issues on the way back though as the fan had packed up! I had to keep stopping outside shops in traffic and top up the water! Bit by bit I'll get it right. Blocked jets (allowing the car to break down) are my latest situation. But overall I'm happy with the car
