Hi all,
I used to have a lovely VS, but was seduced by an Armstrong Siddeley (I know, I know, how could I change so much!) so sold the X1/9 after two good years in it . I am now tempted to buy another and have recently perused the usual CCW, CCB and C&C mags and sites, but would prefer to buy from a club owner.

Would anyone have a good MOT'd '1500' that's genuinely in decent condition that they want looked after by an enthusiast and not traded on in the next five minutes?.

When in the club before I was in Luton, but have now retired and moved to West Norfolk, but realise I may well have to travel to obtain what I would like. However, would naturally hope to not have to go viewing cars in the far 'wastes' of the North or West!!!.

Any suggestions (and price)please to Richard Bartholomew on:

r.bartholomew@freeuk.com (01842-819969 anytime)

Cheers all,
Richard

hello Richard welcome to the forum,i would say your on the right track by trying to purchase an x1/9 from a club member as they are well looked after by ownersclub members,i would say buy the best you can,a very good one is worth the extra money in the long run as most bad parts would have been replaced in recent times, you do get some on ebay but always take care with cars off there, maybe a member local to you can come along with you to view any you see...pete

Thanks Pete for the welcome reply. I hope to see if some club members may tempt me with their cherished vehicles, and will keep my fingers crossed that they are within my budget!.

I really don't want to have to start getting welding done on the front pillers, doors, etc, etc, and do realise that I will have to pay to get a good one. Just so much spare cash available however, so we will see!!,
Cheers, Richard
