Have your car on the stand at Birmingham NEC Show

Andy Rowley is organising this event. I'm glad to announce that the Owner's Club has sucessfully booked another stand this year at the 2012 Birmingham NEC Motorshow in November. Essentially, we need four cars to be placed on the stand - it would be nice to have a mixture this year, i.e. a 1300, 1500, modified etc.

I had my car on the stand last year and it truley was a great experience. You need to be present on the Thursday the 15th to drop your car off making sure it is presentable. You then collect it on the Sunday evening.

I will be there on the Friday and Sunday (possibly the Thursday) to help out on promoting the club and the car. We would be grateful if anyone could also help out on the stand on the Fri/Sat/Sun as it's nice to get a break from time to time!


For those that have never been, the NEC is probably the largest motorshow of the year and will feature Wheeler Dealers, Mike and ED!

Also I have all the banners, flags and bunting needed for the stand, if I can't bring it down to the AGM, I'll give it to Neil O to deliver.

As Rob mentioned, I am coordinating the club stand at the NEC and will be there from the Thursday until the Sunday evening.

Juliet and Jim; it would be great if we could have your cars on the stand at the NEC.

You need to be aware that we would need your cars to be at the NEC for the Thursday morning 15th November and the cars will have to stay on the stand until the evening of Sunday 18th. They cannot be removed from the hall before then.
If you are definitley interested in showing your car, let me know. I will then give you further details as and when they become available.

Also, if Ollie is up for it and we could get the green monster there as well, we would get a great cross section of X1/9s!
Or, failing that, if anyone else has a modified X1/9 that they would like to show, please let me know.

I had my car on the club stand circa 1996'ish when we managed to 'borrow' one of the Alcan Aluminium X1/9's. Truely superb show with tons to see - I'll be hoping to attend on one of the days although slightly disturbed by the current ticket prices! Hey-ho..........

Our stand is vitually next to yours, so will definitely be over to see you as I like the Montecarlos nearly as much as the X1/9!

Ok, less than 4 weeks to go everyone. Can we confirm on here who is now definitely able to commit to having their car on the club stand? - 1300, 1500, modified and something else is the ideal...

Juliet Quarmby's 1500
and my GF.

A modified X1/9 would complete the quartet.....

I have also received offers of help on the stand as well.

Anyone else who is intending on going to the NEC and doesn't mind helping out on the stand for a bit would be most appreciated.
