Just joined the club. When I was 19, now 45! I owned my first X1/9, and I would like to find it, so if anyone knows the whereabouts of a metallic red X1/9, reg number KVV 705Y please let me know.

Welcome to the club. The club secretary (Steve Sharpe) may hold info on the cars whereabouts if previously owned by a club member.
It doesn't show on insurance websites and the DVLA website indicates that it has been off the road since 17/07/1990 so if you're very lucky it's in a safe dry place.
It doesn't have an export marker on it, so may still be in the country.
Lots of nice examples around still this is a good place to search for one, as the cars history is more likely to be known.
I am not aware of a register of cars and owners. I will send an email to Neil and Rob to see if they know of one. I will get back to you as soon as I have an answer.

When I joined the club I thought I completed a form providing details such as number plate and mods etc.., I assumed this was used to track the cars history.
Sorry for mis-informing others if this was / is not the case.
The database is held by Rob Croskell the membership secretary. I have sent him an email asking him to see if we have KVV 705Y on the database. We wont be able to hand over contact details if we have them due to data protection but we can forward a message.
I've just checked on the membership database and there doesn't seem to be a record of that registration unfortunately, so it looks like we won't be able to help trace what happened to it.
