Hi folks,

Not been a member since late 1998 , but pleased to see the club is still going strong :)

I've been storing my 83 exy for far too long and am now exploring ways to give the car some ummph.

I did buy a complete Uno Turbo about 14 years ago to transplant but I got involved with other projects and it fell apart on the drive so sold it on.

Now I am investigating my power plant options

Can anybody offer some advice on what engines from the alfa/lancia/fiat range will fit and work without too much be-spoke engineering?

I have my eyes on a 2.0l mirafuri twin cam but this was an in-line unit, although turn it thro 90 degrees and all the bits appear in the right place, but what about the box etc.

I'm on the look out so if anyone is selling a likely candidate I would be iterested in hearing from them.

Nice web site folks and pleased to be in touch. Not ready for events quite yet but when 'Freddie' is finished, you try and stop me :P

Cheers

Mark

Greetings Mark and welcome home :cheer:
Can't help you on power plant options, not my area of expertise, but someone on here, probably Rachael, will be able to help.
You need to get mobile asap and get on some events!!

Hi Mark, there are quite a few options out there. Easiest by far is the uno turbo swap although the fiat/lancia twin-cam is good for power if you don't want to mess with injection systems. Expect up to 200 brake on this engine with carbs and Guy Croft tuning! Uno turbo wise, many of us have done the swap.

See if you can meet us at the National in Yorkshire. Steve and I will be in convoy with both 1400 turbo conversions, Richard Priest will be in his twin-cam and Nick will be there with the 24v V6.

Other cars I know of with mods that may be there are Charle's uno turbo 1.6 hybrid and possibly Mark Perry's 1600 twin-cam turbo. Modding X1/9s seems to be more and more popular.
