Subject: Release-Authorised: Rally for Heroes 2012 Car Club meet 6th May 2012

Dear all,

Rally for Heroes 2012 (R4H) © Kindly invites your Club to our official Opening on Sunday 6th May 2012.

We are calling all enthusiast owner clubs to help us raise money for both our charities H4H and RBL. The official launch will be held on the Beach lawns of Weston-super-Mare from 0900 hrs to 2100 hrs on Sunday 6th May 2012. RFH © has already been indorsed from many celebrities, Tom Collins (the Old Stig), Dean Richards (rugby legend), James Martin (celebrity Chef), Bear Grylls, and not forgetting HRH Prince Harry.

The only cost will be £5 per car to park up and show off your clubs, feel free to bring your flags and club banners.

This event is a run up to our main event taking place in August 2012. Please see attached poster for the May and August events.

To give you a bit of background, at midday on 18th of August 2012, 50 vehicles will be leaving the Top Gear track at Dunsfold Aerodrome for the trip of a lifetime. The group known as Rally for Heroes (RFH) will be aiming to raise £100,000 for two very deserving causes – that is Help for Heroes and The Royal British Legion. Each participant will be driving 5 miles for each fallen serviceman & woman that has made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. I would ask you to take a couple of minutes to look at this website to get an idea of the scale of losses we are talking about www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-10634173 The group’s journey will take them through some of the most amazing driving roads and scenery Western Europe has to offer, visiting a wide range of legendary locations such as Monaco, the Stelvio Pass in Italy, the Grossglockner Pass in Austria and the Nurburgring in Germany. At each stopping point in the journey there are events planned to give our cause wider exposure and help raise more money.
£100,000 may sound a lot but put into perspective, it is only £300 for each life lost. As I am sure you will agree, whatever total we choose to select it will pale into insignificance when compared to the unstinting loyalty and bravery of the men and women in our Armed Forces. It also does not take into account the many hundreds injured on active duty or suffering endured even after they have left the Armed Forces resulting from conflict. In terms of our adopted charities Help for Heroes raises money to support members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in the service of their country. Monies raised are used to buy much needed services that will aid their recovery. The objectives of the Royal British Legion are to look after the ex-Service community not only just after they return to civilian life, but during their entire lives. Wherever an ex-Serviceman or woman needs help, the Royal British Legion is pledged to be there to give a helping hand.
We would like you to consider becoming an Event Sponsor: The event will attract a considerable amount of media attention throughout the UK and Europe.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Yours sincerely
