Dear Mods,
Please explain to the membership why someone has deleted the "Cool Runnings" thread from the Faults and Fixes section, rather than moving it to the moderators' area in accordance with the forum rules.
This is a disgraceful abuse of the offender's moderator privileges and we want answers. This behaviour is exactly what myself, Charlie and many others deplore.
Regards
Rachael

I'm not surprised your posts are getting deleted. You say you are leaving, wipe out 7 years of your previous posts then come on and try and have a pop at me at every opportunity when you know perfectly well I have been asked not to reply to you. No doubt folks are getting a bit sick of it all.
And i'm not getting into this with you.... END OF.

Thanks Charlie, not having a pop at you here but shouldn't the membership know why the "deleter" is not following the forum rules? After all, as you yourself said in the Facebook group, we all pay £30 for this "nonsense."

Let's hope for some answers then; regardless of his behaviour elsewhere Charlie has a good point.

OK, I've checked the audit trail and found who has been unilaterally deleting posts. To be fair to them, the person involved may not have been familiar with the moderation process, so I've explained the process and asked them to follow this in future. If we have a continued problem with posts being unilaterally deleted, then we may need to look at reducing the number of moderators.
To explain to people what the process is, we have a moderators forum where we can move potentially controversial posts. We can then discuss these as a committee before deciding what, if any, moderating action we need to take. This is to avoid situations where a) people take unilateral action in moderating posts and b) we lose the post, as once it's deleted it's gone, while if we move it to a different forum we can restore it to the original forum if we wish.
I hope that clarifies things. I'll keep an eye on the forum and any moderation activity in the next few days, but let's try and keep it friendly and fun!
