Can we have a restoration thread on the forum?

Would be nice to have a specific thread to post up my resto progress and I'm sure other people would like to do the same...

1983 1500 (currently restoring it)
1989 1500 GF - on the road
2003 Mazda RX8 - modern version of the X1/9

Aspires to a Lancia MonteCarlo (code number by Fiat and Lancia X1/8 then X1/20)

A separate restro section is a good idea I think... And if it included all of our saved efforts?, I could show off my Mk2 Transit passion wagon, then bore you all to tears with Uno turbo's.

Sparky, I meant a new thread / header on the main forum... Then anyone can post there own resto thread otherwise it just gets lost in the noise of any new / incoming threads...

So a the board would look something like this...

1983 1500 (currently restoring it)
1989 1500 GF - on the road
2003 Mazda RX8 - modern version of the X1/9

Aspires to a Lancia MonteCarlo (code number by Fiat and Lancia X1/8 then X1/20)

Its a great idea Terry I also think we should have a showroom section so everyone can post their cars up good or bad helps start a record of cars and makes for great reading/viewing.

Most other club forums have a showroom or show us yours section (cars that is and not man sausage or lady bumps)

you can add a garage in the forum, just like mine:
www.x19.nl/phpBB2/garage.php

It's accessible without logging in.

That is really cool. I am very tempted to join the NL club as I worked nr Utrecht for two years on secondment. So I have a great affection for the Dutch people... Does the NL club have an option for English on the forum? I am afraid my dutch is not very good as you all speak such good English I never had to learn Dutch!

You can set it partially in english but that's only the programm, altough you can post in english or look at the pictures :D . Or use a translation programm like babelfish
The dutch forum is no part of the club, it's mine and my dads.If it's hard for you to make an account i can make a login account for you (it free  )

That garage forum looks really cool. I'd be interested to know how it was set up, if you've got any information?

One thing I'm trying to achieve with the new website is to get more interesting articles on the main website rather than all the interesting stuff being on the forum. With that in mind, rather than creating a new forum, I'll hold fire if that's OK as I think a section on restorations, or even members' car stories in general could be a really nice feature on the site itself.

I've got loads of work on the new site done over the Christmas break, so hopefully we'll be able to plan how we roll it out over the next couple of months.

I think that's an exxie-lent idea Neil. It's the best way to advertise the club as being positive and alive. 8)
