Nice things get trashed!!!

Big thank you to the idiot in a Passat that decided to do a 3 point turn at a petrol station on the way back from the national. Mark Slade stopped for fuel in Chipping Norton, I parked up out of the way, miles away from any other car. Passat driver drives in, realises he can't fill up on the HGV pump so comes really close to the shiny black car, does his 3 point turn and reverses at speed straight in the back of BAD

More grief to sort out, Chris I am still on for auto italia - got people on standby to repair once I sort out the insurance claims.

On a better note I got back with no faults on the car, just a miserable face!! Thank you to everyone's efforts at the national. A good weekend had by all, I think everyone will agree.

You won't to hear this right now of of course but there is a purpose to those big chunky 1500 bumpers... It is a sad point though that drivers in bigger cars only look for bigger cars in their rear view... not lower cars...
There are some nuts out there that shouldn't be... I had someone run in to the back of mine on the North Circ one time and I was doing 40 mph at the time, he was so busy waving to his pal, he wasn't looking out of the front! :roll:

Indeed, I really feel for Pete. Why are idiots attracted to smashing lovely cars? Mine, Pete's, Nick's V6 exxie. When my car was off the road for the bumper conversion 8 years ago I borrowed a 213 Rover. Parked it anywhere, in the tightest of places, left it unlocked etc. It never even picked up a scratch!!

Bugger. thats all I can say. Gutted for you my man.

Yeah it will be fixed soon - work is starting tomorrow, plus a few little bits on her here and there. Poor Pete had an idiot change lanes on him at a roundabout, he tried to avoid quickly, aquaplaned and the front went in to a tree. I thought I had it bad. Pete has done a massive amount to promote the club, he really didn't deserve that. That's life taking the ......

sad to say that the old red 1300 is not well. Major tin worm. Failed mot on

Corrosion to both footwells, inner and outer sills, jacking points, seat and seatbelt anchorages, welding to n/s/r chassis leg weak and the list goes on.

Engine and gearbox still sweat as a nut.

With the body needing so much work not sure what to do with it.
