roof off weather?....YOU BET! was created by Joe
Travelling at speed up M1 around J30, approx 7pm last thursday.
It was raining (or was it snow), digital readout in the Voyager said 3c outside, but aircon and driving position set to "sitting room" setting, sat nav set to discreet, turbo whistling very politely...then.....
Was past by an old TVR 'wedgie'.....must have been doing over a ton....ROOF OFF!
Either he has the spirit an exxy owner does, or had left the soft top cover at home?!
Was nice to think that maybe there's other diehard roof off drivers out there, not just us exxy owners...
I thought for a moment....then grinned as I adjused the seat temperature, because I felt a bit 'parky'

I regularly see a chap in a very expensive looking Jag XK120 replica (only its A reg gives it a way) and I've never seen him with the top up, even in the weather we've been having this last week or so.
I've been using my X1/9 for the last two weeks while my Golf is off the road with a dead ECU, but I can assure you I have had the roof firmly on!

I could get jealous!
JLR has a clutch issue i'e losing fluid. (i think that's what has been leaking into the driver's footwell not a dodgy heater valve!) Nearly lost clutch on the way home! (Well it's like a racing clutch now-just off the floor!)
She's also nearly reached the mileage limit as well.
And the cooling system needs a bit of sorting out.
So I'm now driving the trusty winter hack around-the faithfull 309!

I had a quick drive today, up a few junctions of the M60 and back with the roof off.
My new job involves driving all sorts of exotica, as well as the usual hatches.....but I can quite honestly say, nothing has been enjoyable as the exxy

Had a good day today starting up Peapod and drying her out. The Cover I have for her is excellent and kept her dry and snug. Started almost first time even after 4 weeks of sitting on the drive. Eh, you cant beat these 1300's can you
Red exxy (Bertie) will not start !!!!!!!! Battery has had it despite numerous charges. Will buy a new one tomorrow and give him a blast.
This weather is atrocious and I know it is totally different up and down the country. Here in Thame (10 miles south of Oxford near Aylesbury) we have had severe frosts followed by howling gales and rain rain rain. My hometown Birmingham has had snow although we have not had the pleasure yet.
Not quite roof off weather at the mo but will try and get either of them out soon.

Warren tut tut leaving the exxy sitting up for 4 weeks, am in the middle of turning my 1500 into a 1300 so today I took it to the bank to get some badly neede money as I get back into her to tear off I got stopped by the police for no reg plate, no bumper, no front lights and parking in a taxi rank. My punishment.... the police stopped the traffic to let me out yes both sides of the road just to say thanks to the guard I then opened up the twin carbs to full song, if all the guards are like this next year the 2006 Irish trip will be good.
