Brake Engineering are still doing these. Got a pair today for £34+vat each, which i think is quite a good deal.

well les apparently they stopped making the 38mm ones and as the x1/9 ones are the same except the piston size they supply the x1/9 ones for fiat 132's.....but saying that they must be some new 'old' stock lurking about, great upgrade,go for it les

I'm missing a vital point here. Are these upgraded front or rear calipers compared to stock exxys?

terry the standard x1/9 rear calipers have 34mm pistons and the 132 has 38mm pistons this helps balance the brakes better ,with the standard calipers the brake bias is front 65% and rears 35%,with the 132 calipers the brake bias becomes front 58% and rears 42%,this means front wheel lock up won't happen as easily ... :)

Hi Charlie, where did you get these? - I've just been quoted £55 per side plus vat (which is a bit steep) for BE calipers via a local factor. When I called BE they say they dont trade direct Any info welcome. Thanks Andrew

From the local Motor Factors Andrew, they didn't have them in stock but had them on shelf next day in brand new undamaged boxes, so I'm guessing they came directly from Brake Engineering.

Maybe thats it, the part nos I had were CA81 and CA81R - taken off the the BE website. What town are you in Charlie? if its near enough I might try your supplier if thats OK. cheers. I have a set of UT front brakes to go on but wanted these to keep the rears in balance before I fitted them. A
