Not sure if this is the right place to post it so feel free to move it if not. i have been watching quite a few episodes of Wheeler Dealer on discovery turbo.

They have restored or got back on the road several cars from the 1980's in the various episodes... MR2 Mk1, Golf GTI, 205 GTI etc...

Does anyone know if they did an X1/9?

1983 1500 (currently restoring it)
1989 1500 GF - on the road
2003 Mazda RX8 - modern version of the X1/9

Aspires to a Lancia MonteCarlo (code number by Fiat and Lancia X1/8 then X1/20)

Nope not yet, probably too scared as there's no way they could restore one in the hour program and how grey would Ed be at the end of it??

ha-ha...

yes quite interesting to see the march of grey hair through Ed as the programmes progress over the years.

Still the silver fox is well and truly entrenched in what's left of my hair..... maybe I'll send them a suggestion for a laugh...

I saw the one when they did the Ferrari - I think they had a 10k budget for that, usually its £5k - and they aim to make a profit!! could they do that with an exxy? mines worth way more to me than it ever could be in £s .............. now, back to the labour of love .........

I spoke with Ed a couple of years ago at the NEC motorshow. He said his mate used to have a gold one and it used to suffer with head gasket probs. He said it was a 'cool car' though!

Yet another "jump to conclusion" by me... I thought I was the only one staying up till all hours watching Ed graft.. and Mike take all the credit.

I don't belive they've done an X19... in fact Im pretty certain they havent. With regards to not being able to complete in the time allowed! I guess that's what the MG, Mini & Triumph club guys would say about their beloved....

It's a tv show, the research would I suspect throw up an X19 that simply requires a polish and a few minor repairs... The net result being a £1000 profit?? arent they all...

Great show none the less.. would love to see them tackle a met green 1300 serie special

GO BUCCS..

Interesting that Practical Classics recently gave the exxy a 7/10 for being an easy restoration job..... funny... it certainly doesn't feel like that as the weeks pass me by out in my workshop
