They are a bitch
If they are stuck good i soak them first in loads of wd40 leave a while then try with an impact driver,if no go then try the heat method, unfortunatly the metal used is crap and several times i have had to drill them out and retap, which is far easier with the door still in place and use the hinge hole as a guide.
The other method i have found which has worked is to get a small chisel and hammer the screw angled towards the undo direction this can losen them without the need for re drilling the screws are usually damaged but are very easy to replace with allen headed screws.

Hope that helps
Mark

Drill the heads off then remove the doors and while you are working on them, give Claire a call at Eurosport and she will supply you with 6 hex head bolts to replace the studs you get out with mole grips after drilling the heads off.

Best to get a good fitting philips bit for your impact driver and a club hammer, then stand by the front wheel and lean over the door for a decent hit on the impact driver - you'll need 3 or 4 good hits to shift a rusted screw before it's even on the brink of freedom - it's a bit alarming as nothing appears to move but if you scribe a line on the screw head you should see it move around a couple of mm each hit - there's a concave star washer under the heads (or at least hould be  ) and worth replacing if well squashed. There can be some scope in reversing the impact direction to give the screw a tightening hit first off in order to help crack the rust. :o

hi everyone,i went and got the doors and fitted them while we were there, all the screws came undone quite easily apart from one which we had to drill out,we used a impact driver(best 3 quid i ever spent..ebay) and a club hammer so now i have 2 immaculate doors only problem i have is the donor cars reg is etched on the glass....any ideas how to remove or cover? thanks pete

Just as easy to change the glass, most of the breakers can sell you new glass or swop from your old doors, take off the door cards and wind window half way down, undo the two nuts holding the frame on and spin the glass sideways to remove, the corner glass is held in with three bolts one at the base of the door and two just under the mirror fixing.
20 minute job.

hi mark cheers for that, the guy kept my old doors (gave me 50 quid discount) as he needed the glass for his dallara replica as it had plastic windows,i am not that worried but if there was an easy way i guess having them etched would be pointless
