Lido Yap
I have had great pleasure in being responsible for the survival of what I believe to be a true Italian classic that now has the potential to be around in another twenty years time. I’ve realy enjoyed driving Yap to many events up and down the country and over to southern Ireland over the last couple of years.
Many members of the club know Paul very well, he is a true motoring enthusiast of all Italian machinery and Yap joins his Lamborghini and Ferrari. Paul has had much involvement in this club over the years being responsible for compiling the Technical Handbooks on the mark that are still available through this club today.
I have replaced Yap with a Blue GF and so I will still be around and look forward to some great X19 events in 2010.

You obviously know in your heart that this is the right thing to do so good luck with watching YAP drive away ...
I think this thread would benefit from a selection of photo's though

Shocked to see that one of the long standing stalwarts of the 1300 club has left us but at least you haven't left the fold completely cos you still have a 1500!
Cheers

Just for the benefit of people who dont know. I bought the door glass mirrors New Old Stock in Europe but I didnt realise that Left hand drive vs right hand drive were set at different angles. My mirrors were usless as they were designed for Left hand drive - and of course i sorted it...

Hi,
A trip down memory lane with YAP 68T. I was the first owner. I bought it new in 1978 from a Fiat dealer in Brighton just off North Road. Sold it to Geoff Oliver (The X19 Man in Southall) about 1987/88. Pleased to see that it is still on the road and survived the dreaded rust. I tried waxoyling the sills on one occasion. The Alcantara trim was a devil to keep clean. The 1300cc engine completely gutless. It used to overheat, the solution was to turn the cockpit heating on! I stopped by the X19 Owners Club tent at Callander Classic Car show on one occasion and asked after it. But it did have style!
Best wishes,
Barry Setterfield
PS Just remembered the dealer was PDH Garages of Brighton.
