Nightmare start to the day. Battery was needing a good charge but I couldn't find my charger. So I got up early to check the car would start as it was booked in first thing for an mot. It churned over and over and no sign of life. I attached my 7A supply to the cigarette lighter and went for a cup of tea. 7.15am still not firing. coupled up strobe light while turning over and no flash. 45mins to go, removed the lumenition, coil and distributer and robbed the tipo ignition/dissy and coil from other car. Started first turn of the key. A quick wiggle of the dissy to get reasonable timing and off to the tester. IT PASSED 8) . So got the car home and tested the lumenition on the bench. Worked great with an 8mm spark. Put it back in the car worked first time. Maybe a bad earth who knows. I think that the car must have known it was going in for mot and decided to sulk

Well done you for going to all the trouble of swapping parts over. I would've probably rescheduled the MoT !

Nice to know you have another year of (trouble free) motoring.
