Lucky Find

Currently trying to put an 82 1500 on the road and have to admit it I wasn't looking forward to having to purchase an exhaust at around £200. After reading the forum realised I wasn't going to have much choice but to go with an online sppecialist retailer as it appears no longer manufactured by usual after market suppliers. However thought nothing lost and phoned a few local auto suppliers, but got usual expected response, whats an X1/9, and no longer manufactured.

One guy though gave me the same answer but added he had loads of old stock exhausts and no idea what he had lying about and I could have a rake through the old stock, so I thought why not!

After 10 mins raking, the last exhaust I looked at and which had been lying on ground in front of me and not hooked on a stand was a Walkers OE spec replacement x1/9 1500 exhaust. The sticker indicated it had been in stock since 2000. It was perfect condition. Even better when the guy asked £40. It cheered my day up and fitted to the car next day.
